Farming, treated as a living system.

Most farm advice treats problems as they appear and defaults to chemical inputs. Krishi Shastra works the other way, reading the farm as a living system, diagnosing at the root and building plans that integrate medicinal and food crops, soil health, water and plant nutrition into one coherent strategy. The same botanical rigour that drives our nursery, brought directly to the field.

We don't consult from a distance.
We read your land.

Conventional farm advice defaults to chemical dependency and treats symptoms one at a time. We diagnose the whole farm as an interconnected system, crops, water, soil biology and plant health understood together and solve problems at their cause, not their surface.

It is the same botanical rigour that drives our nursery and design work, brought directly to the field. Where medicinal crops, native species, or seasonal planting designs are part of the plan, we can source authenticated material from our own nursery, the same stock grown for Vraksha Shilpa gardens and practitioner supply.

Solve it at the root.

01 · Crop Planning

The right crop, right place, right time

We design cropping systems around your soil, climate, water availability and market, with a specific focus on integrating medicinal and food crops in polyculture systems that improve soil health, reduce input dependency and increase per-acre value. Where suitable, we also help source and supply authenticated planting material required for implementation. Not a generic schedule. A plan built for your land.

02 · Water Management

A farm that uses water intelligently

Water is the most mismanaged resource on most Indian farms. We assess current usage, design efficient irrigation, plan seasonal scheduling and where applicable design rainwater harvesting and conservation structures, so the land no longer floods when it rains and thirsts when it doesn't.

03 · Soil Testing & Health

Everything starts here

A soil test without interpretation is just numbers on paper. We pair field observation with laboratory analysis, interpret what the results mean for your specific crops and deliver a practical restoration plan, amendments, cover crops, composting and biological inputs that rebuild soil life over time. Healthy soil is the foundation of potent crops. For medicinal crops specifically, soil nutrition is not just a yield question, it determines whether the plant produces active compounds at therapeutic levels or merely grows fast.

04 · Disease Identification & Diagnosis

The symptom is rarely the problem

When something goes wrong, the visible symptom is rarely the real cause. We identify diseases, pest pressures and nutrient disorders through field diagnosis and sample testing, then trace the cause. A wilting plant may be root disease, a pH issue, or water-logging. We find out which and prescribe a targeted, low-chemical or chemical-free solution that fixes the cause rather than masking it.

Integrated Farm Solutions.

One coherent farm health plan.

For farmers who want one person who understands the whole system, not four separate consultants with four separate agendas, we assess the whole farm, identify the interconnected problems and deliver a single integrated plan covering crops, water, soil and plant health.

Particularly suited to farms transitioning from conventional to organic cultivation and to any farm where integrating medicinal species, for income diversification, soil health, or conservation, is part of the longer-term plan.

Plant science, brought
to the field.

Krishi Shastra is for farmers who are done with advice that ignores their actual land. Smallholders needing practical low-input plans. Farms in organic transition who need the science, not just the intention. Growers adding medicinal species who need to understand potency, not just yield. And estates that need whole-farm systems thinking, not piecemeal fixes. We work across Karnataka, with a specific depth in the coastal and Western Ghats agricultural belt where our own farm is rooted.

All five pillars

Your farm is a system. Let's read it that way.

Smallholder, organic-transition, medicinal grower, or estate, tell us about your land and we'll start with what's actually happening in the soil.
